The action resulted in over 750 kilograms of waste paper collected. The collected waste paper was delivered to the recycling company, Eko sirovina Ltd. Tuzla.

As you may know, for several years now, Partner Microcredit Foundation has a contract with various paper recycling companies by which all waste paper is being collected and recycled. The recent initiative, in addition to the basic importance, is aimed at expanding the awareness of employees about the collection and proper disposal of waste paper. Partner hopes that all the employees will adopt the practice of collecting paper and regular submission of the recycling company.

 It is noteworthy that the production of paper has a huge impact on the environment. Denudation of forest lands (field stripping), exhaustion of drinking water, uncontrolled discharge of waste water generated as a side effect of the production of paper are just some of the consequences. By simply recycling paper, many negative impacts on the environment can be significantly reduced.

Each kg of recycled paper means 4 kg less greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and a ton of collected paper saves 20 trees. Paper can be recycled seven times, and the last stage is the conversion into toilet paper. In each round of recycling saves energy and 1400kWh, spends a thousand times less water than is needed for the new paper, with the enormous benefits of preserving forests.
